Community groups encouraged to get involved with Glasgow 2018

 Glasgow 2018 European Championships

A vote involving the wider community will then take place to decide which of the ideas make it through to the main event.

Rowing and triathlon events are taking place at Strathclyde Park between 2 and 12 August 2018.

And, while a cultural festival will take place in the park from 2 to 5 and 9 to 12 August, the winning groups work will be on show on Sunday 5th and Sunday 12 August - the days the rowing and triathlon events conclude.

North Lanarkshire has been awarded £10,000 by Festival 2018 to deliver the events.

Jillian Ferrie of CultureNL said: "We're calling on local groups to come forward with proposals for cultural activity such as performances or exhibitions which can be performed or displayed during the Glasgow 2018 events, reflecting the rich diversity of local culture that exists in North Lanarkshire."
