One Parent Families Scotland - Emergency Energy Fund

OPFS has secured funding from the Scottish Government’s Wellbeing Fund to enable them to provide vital support to single parents across Scotland during the Coronavirus crisis and lockdown.   

They aim to help families on low incomes who are under intense financial pressure due to the coronavirus crisis and are struggling financially.  

OPFS Emergency Energy Fund can provide a one-off payment of £50 to single parent families who need help with their energy bills (e.g. gas/electricity).

Applications must be endorsed and submitted by a sponsor, acting in their professional capacity. 

For the purposes of this fund, a single parent/carer/kinship carer is defined as one adult living with at least one child under the age of 25. 

Sponsors can be professionals from any organisation that is aware that the person meets the above criteria.

This is not a means tested application, though they do require sponsors to ascertain there are issues of hardship. 

The grant will open on 15th June at 12 noon and close on 24th June at 5pm.  

Dependent on demand this may have to be shortened.
