Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Services Volunteer

Macmillan in Lanarkshire are currently looking for volunteers to support their Cancer Information and Support Service. This role is based within libraries and community venues, offering a listening ear to people affected by cancer and signposting them to other services such as financial advice, physical activity, complementary therapies or counselling services. Volunteers are required across Lanarkshire but especially within the Bellshill and Coatbridge areas.

ABCT supports small to medium charities that defend human rights and promote respect for vulnerable individuals whatever their circumstances. Organisations can apply for up to £20 000.

The Trust is particularly interested in charities that work with marginalised and excluded people in society, with a focus on:

'Strictly Seniors' Tea Dance Looking for Volunteers

The Cumbernauld Community Forum is hosting a ‘Strictly Seniors’ Tea Dance Event on Friday 2nd February 2018 in Cumbernauld. The event is being held in the Freedom City Church Centre, 6A St Mungo's Road, Cumbernauld G67 1QR (Cumbernauld town centre). They are expecting over 200 people to attend and are looking for volunteers to provide support on the day. Duties would include showing people to their seats, encouraging people up to dance and chatting to those attending.

Neighbourhood Networks Volunteer Opportunity

Would you like to make a difference within your community? Are you a good listener, like to help reduce isolation, build up peoples’ confidence, share your skills and learn new ones? We are looking for someone who has a passion to make a change in their local community by creating and supporting a new Community Circle for Neighbourhood Networks.

Neighbourhood Networks is a not-for-profit company and a charity registered in Scotland. Our main purpose is to facilitate networks of mutual support amongst vulnerable people in various parts of Scotland.
