Deaf Awareness Day - Deaf Services Lanarkshire

Below is a copy of this years programme for Deaf Awareness Day. Confirmation of places by email, 20 places per day, these will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. email dsltraining@outlook.com. Tea and coffee on arrival at 10 am, training will commence approximately 10.15 and finish at 3.30. A certificate of attendance will be provided for CPD purposes. These sessions will be held at Unit 40, Fountain Business Centre, Ellis Street, Coatbridge, ML5 3AA

Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Services Volunteer

Macmillan in Lanarkshire are currently looking for volunteers to support their Cancer Information and Support Service. This role is based within libraries and community venues, offering a listening ear to people affected by cancer and signposting them to other services such as financial advice, physical activity, complementary therapies or counselling services. Volunteers are required across Lanarkshire but especially within the Bellshill and Coatbridge areas.

European Championships 2018 - Volunteer Stewards

A new era in world sport will get underway in the summer of 2018 as Glasgow and Berlin host the inaugural European Championships — an exciting new multi-sport event bringing together some of the continent’s leading sports including the existing European Championships for Athletics, Aquatics, Cycling, Gymnastics, Rowing and Triathlon with a new Golf Team Championships.

The Championships will take Scotland’s sporting reputation to the next level, with a potential TV audience of up to 1.03 billion across Europe set to watch the action.

Big Lottery Fund – Young Start

Next Application Deadline: 8th November 2017 (noon)

Young Start distributes money from dormant bank accounts. The fund aims to create opportunities for children and young people aged between 8 and 24 to help them realise their potential. Groups and organisations can apply for up to £50 000. The fund is pausing in early November 2017 but plans to reopen in Spring 2018.

Scotland’s Community Capacity and Resilience Fund

Next Application Deadline: 26th October 2017 (5pm)

This scheme is open to third sector organisations with an income of less than £250,000 for grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 to support their delivery of projects and activities that help mitigate the effects of welfare reform, combat social inequality, promote social inclusion and have a preventative impact in communities.
